National Association for Gun Rights - Rhode Island Petition

Dear Fellow Patriot,

Should Rhode Island have a Gun Control Czar?

I hope your answer to that question is a loud "NO!"

But if billionaire-playboy ex-New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg and his allies have their way, I'm afraid a gun control Czar may be just the tip of the iceberg.

You see, Bloomberg's group, Mayors Against Guns, just written a check for $25 million as a down-payment for state-level gun control this year.

After NAGR members and liberty-loving patriots like you thwarted much of their anti-gun agenda last year, they're out for revenge and round two in your state legislature.

Here's how their latest scheme works:

Your right to carry your firearm is already over regulated in Rhode Island, but...

Under current state law, you can still obtain a permit to carry your firearm either through your local government which is a "shall" issue process.

You could also get a permit through your anti-gun Attorney General, Peter Kilmartin, who "may" issue permits to applicants, if he feels like it.

But H5993 by State Rep. Larry Valencia (D-39), would eliminate the local-shall issue process.

If passed, it would leave Attorney General Kilmartin as the only arbitrator of your right to carry.

In other words -- a gun control Czar!

Worse, H5990 by State Rep. Joseph Almeida (D-12) would impose a massive new gun ban, outlawing as many semi-automatic firearms as possible and imposing a ten round magazine limit.

And, H5573 by State Rep. Linda Finn (D-72) would create a massice new state-wide gun registration database designed to book gun-owners like common criminals.

Finn's bill would even tax you -- $100 per gun -- for registration.

The gun grabbers are relentless.

Michael Bloomberg's group even threatened law-abiding gun owners this past weekend with "his whole foot" when it comes to their state operations this year.

The time to organize pro-gun opposition to their schemes in Providence is now

That's why I hope you'll sign this petition to your state lawmakers urging them to OPPOSE these anti-gun proposals in Rhode Island.

No More Gun Control Petition
To members of the Rhode Island General Assembly and Governor Lincoln Chafee:
Whereas: President Obama, ex-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and their gun control allies are trying to impose their radical anti-gun agenda on residents of Rhode Island; and,
Whereas: By definition, criminals don't obey laws and new gun control laws make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families; and,
Whereas: The right to keep-and-bear arms is protected by the Constitution of the State of Rhode Island and the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which clearly states "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."; and,
Whereas: Gun rights supporters, like myself, strongly oppose gun control and will be paying close attention to all gubernatorial actions on new anti-gun schemes as well as any State Legislator who votes for them.
Therefore: Therefore, as a citizen of Rhode Island, I URGE you to oppose, vote against, or veto all anti-gun legislation, including H5573 (Gun Registration), H5990 (Semi-auto and Magazine Ban), H5993 (Gun Control Czar Act) and any companion bills or similar legislation.
